Living Room Collective reached out to me in the latter half of 2024 to help them with graphics and digital for their exhibition representing Canada in the 2025 Venice Biennale. Picoplanktonics, presented by the Canada Council for the Arts at the Canada Pavilion for the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, is a project by Andrea Shin Ling and the Living Room Collective that 3D-prints large-scale living structures embedded with carbon-absorbing cyanobacteria. The work imagines a carbon-negative, ecology-first approach to architecture, where buildings actively remediate the environment through ongoing biological growth rather than depleting it.
